Renewing Waste, through Art

Renewi, European market leader in waste management and recycling, aims at 'protecting the world by giving used materials a new life'. Renewi plays an important and innovative role in both the processing and supply of high-quality recycled materials. Renewi has 6,500 employees and an extensive network of 165 locations all over Europe.
By exhibiting a work of art made from discarded materials, Renewi wants to show the world how to give used materials a new life. The work of art should radiate sustainability and circularity.
This call is to all artists, both students and professionals, artists and designers, national and international, who see climate and sustainability as a priority.
Location
The artwork will be exhibited in different locations in Belgium and should therefore be modular and movable.
Materials
Renewi provides the materials for production such as wood, plastic, glass, ...
The location where you can collect your materials will depend on the type of material required. Different locations in Flanders and Wallonia qualify for this.
Design criteria
- Weather and wind proof
- Dismountable
- Transportable by one of Renewi’s vehicles
- 3D design
- Renewi becomes owner of the design/artwork
Content Dossier
- Biography / CV of the designer/artist
- Concept; sketches and maquette
- Extensive, detailed description of the artwork (dimensions, composition, materials....)

This selection of 5 designers will get the opportunity to present their design/artwork to the jury on 23 June, 2022.
