Clever waste logistics halves transport in Amsterdam

In Amsterdam the first step was taken towards completely carbon neutral waste transport. Under the direction of TNO and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, SUEZ and Renewi have succeeded in making the waste transport in Amsterdam more sustainable.

Renewi invests in new sustainable collection fleet

Euro 6 trucks are ‘best-in-class’ for reducing harmful exhaust pollutants and emissions. Renewi will invest in over 400 Euro 6 trucks across the Netherlands and Belgium, meaning that by Spring 2019 around 90% of its fleet will be Euro 5 or Euro 6 trucks.

Main Orgaworld generator has supplied 90,000 people with green electricity for a year

Measured up to last week, the main generator at the Orgaworld Greenmills site in Amsterdam had produced over 120 million kWh, enough to supply green electricity to around 90,000 people for a year.

Unique collaborative initiative cuts waste collection journeys in Haarlem by 50%

Waste collectors, the Dutch Transport Operators Association and the Municipality of Haarlem have signed a declaration of intent to have industrial and commercial waste generated in the Dutch city collected by one single service. Vehicles belonging to a number of different waste collectors currently make up a lot of the traffic driving through the city but in June, any residual waste, along with paper and cardboard, will be collected by one neutral vehicle.

On the street today: paving tiles of recycled residual waste

- A sustainable tile that is just as clean and safe as a ‘regular’ paving tile and is produced from recycled residual household waste, partly from the own municipality. Duiven is the first municipality where this tile will adorn the streets from now on, under the name "De Duivense Tegel" ("The Duiven Tile").

ROCs secured by Renewi and Interserve for Derby Waste Treatment Centre

Resource Recovery Solutions’ (Derbyshire) Ltd (RRS) PPP waste project, a joint venture between international waste-to-product company, Renewi plc (LSE: RWI) and Interserve Group plc (LSE: IRV) has secured its green subsidies in the form of Renewable Obligation Certificates (“ROCs”) for its Waste Treatment Centre in Derby.
