Renewi plc (“Renewi”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Thys per 1 June 2021 as Managing Director, Commercial Waste Belgium.
Mark joins Renewi from Eurofins Scientific, where he has worked as Global Chief Transformation Officer based out of Belgium since 2019. Prior to this, Mark built his career at Goodyear Dunlop where he held a number of senior positions including Managing Director International Sales and Operations, Managing Director Goodyear Dunlop France & BeNeLux, and previously he led Goodyear’s EMEA Business Transformation.
Mark, a sustainable businesses leader, has experience working in different fields and business environments having had assignments in multiple countries including Belgium. He enjoys working in a dynamic environment that is people-focused where the priority is on working together to drive things forward. Mark holds a Masters in Commercial Engineering and an Executive MBA in Business & General Management.

We have confidence that he is the right leader to move the Commercial Waste Belgium business forward.” Mark will, after a thorough induction period which started from April 1th, succeed Wim Geens who will leave the business following a decision to take his career path in a different direction. Wim led Renewi’s Belgian operation with great success since the launch of Renewi in 2018. He joined Van Gansewinkel in 2006. “We thank Wim for his 15 years of service and wish him every good fortune in the future.”
