Who we are
and what we do
Renewi E-Waste, formerly known as Coolrec, is a key player in Europe’s circular economy. We specialise in the processing of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), transforming discarded appliances into high-quality circular materials such as plastics, gasses, ferrous, and non-ferrous metals.With advanced treatment plants in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, we help industrial and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) reduce their environmental footprint by closing the loop on valuable materials.

Our strategy is fully aligned with Renewi’s overarching goal: to be the leading waste-to-product company. We are committed to sustainability and innovation, always working to deliver the highest material recovery rates and the best environmental outcomes.
We invest in advanced technologies and collaborative innovation with industrial partners to continuously improve the quality and safety of our processes. Our Research & Development teams frequently work with external stakeholders on lab testing, pilot projects, and the implementation of new techniques across all facilities.

for impact
Renewi E-waste operates under the Specialities division of Renewi.
- In the Netherlands, we operate fully as part of Renewi.
- In Belgium, we have a strategic partnership with Recydel SA, where Intradel SCRL and Spaque SA each hold a 10% share.
- In France, we collaborate with Vitamine T SAS, which also holds a 10% stake.
We manage one of Europe’s largest recycling plants for WEEE plastics. Our Waalwijk site (Netherlands) houses the world’s largest dedicated line for processing refrigerator plastics. This facility handles input from both our own operations and a network of external partners across Europe. To support efficient operations, all sites share a central spare parts inventory, a shredder pool, and benefit from centralised technical and engineering support.
