Waste collection shops ‘Waste pays’
Afval Loont (or ‘Waste Pays’), the Dutch Recycle Bank’, is a shop concept where consumers can hand in separated waste and be paid for it. ‘Waste Pays’ rewards you for every kilo of waste handed in, including textiles, electronics, plastic, paper, metal and deep-frying fat. The consumer places the amount on a savings card and ‘Waste Pays’ will pay out every ten Euros that is accumulated. As a major advocate of waste separation, Renewi participates in this sustainable initiative, both through knowledge and funds.
